Sonoma County Remodeling Contractor. Done Right the First Time.

Eric Wilson is very professional, knows his business, and reasonably priced. I strongly recommend him to anyone who is doing anything and everything to ones residence or office.

Eric Wilson did a repair to our roof and ceiling that was caused by a large tree branch that fell on the roof. He was timely, professional, and got the job done. I was impressed by his at attention to detail.

Eric created a wonderful second bathroom for us in our small russian river cottage that showcased his problem solving skills and creative design style. He encountered significant plumbing and electrical issues and gave us fair quotes for improving these important components of our home. He also did a marvelous job refinishing and shoring up our deck which allowed us to install a new hot-tub. He stayed in constant communication and provided updates through-out the project. We appreciated his professionalism and attention to detail. We most definitely would schedule future projects with Eric.

We needed an office addition to our home and decided to go with Specialty Improvements Unlimited. After meeting with Eric and going over the project details, it was clear they were the right choice. I appreciate a contractor that comes over to give a bid and is actually the one that will be there while the work is being done. Often these days this is not the case, but it is with Specialty. Eric and team handled every question and extra feature I ended up needing with professionalism and ease. They were clean and got the job done quickly. The addition also turned out great! If you are looking for a contractor with good communication skills to perform quality work, then look no further than Specialty Improvements Unlimited!

Eric Wilson is an honest and well informed contractor who knew what we needed for fire prevention vent addition and improvements and for attic work and lighting repairs. I recommend him. Sally Gearhart, Santa Rosa

Eric has always come thru for me. He has many talents. He built my fantastic deck. Looks great-not an easy job. It is holding up perfectly.
If you are looking for some one who cares about detail, has lots of experience, call Eric!

Eric Wilson, owner of Specialty Improvements Unlimited, has completed three different projects for us in the last several years. The most recent was replacing water damaged external siding. Eric uses the best materials available and combines this with quality workmanship to deliver an outstanding product. I would definitely recommend him for anyone wanting or needing interior and/or exterior renovation or repair.

I have used Eric Wilson, owner of Specialty Improvements Unlimited, for various projects over the past 15 years and they have been excellent in each of the projects they’ve done. I’ve found Eric to be very professional, and honest with high integrity and character.
Some of the smallest projects involved repairs and improvements of electrical and plumbing systems, demolition of various structures followed by associated repairs and construction, etc. More recently Eric and his crew completely remodeled our 1,200 sq foot home, and added an additional 1,300 sq feet to our home along with an enormous deck and staircase outside, resulting a new 2,500 sq foot home with a large stone fireplace, high ceilings, all new electrical, plumbing, a new septic system, etc. Eric worked closely with our architect, the county engineers and inspectors to make sure everything was done correctly, and I believe has their high respect as a General Contractor. Eric and his crew did and incredible job in every aspect of the construction, down to the final painting and total cleaning of the project. My wife and I never worried about anything they’ve done – it has always been “over-the-top” in all areas, and we highly recommend Eric Wilson and Specialty Improvements, Unlimited.

We have used Eric for small projects as well as large ones. Recently, we had him replace a poorly fitting, worn-out door from our house to our garage. He suggested installing a slightly wider, ADA-compliant door to replace it. Not only does the new door give us more room to enter/exit, but it is also better looking, better insulated, and better fitting than the old door. Needless to say, we are very happy with the new door installation and grateful to Eric for his expert advice and construction skills.

Installed a new door and way more. Our 47 year old house had original doors and windows. Over a year he replaced our doors, windows, some siding and then painted. Fantastic results.

Eric, again, completed an excellent job of bathroom remodeling for us. This was the second project that we contracted Eric for and we have no regrets. Two bathrooms in our Santa Rosa home completely remodeled from floor to ceiling with great communication, cleanliness and top quality standard of work.
Very satisfied clients once again!

I recently hired Eric Wilson of Specialty Improvements Unlimited to remodel both of my bathrooms.  I found him through Home Advisors.  He did a fantastic job!  “We” did one bathroom at a time so I always had a functional bathroom.

The first one, he gutted out the entire bathroom and started over.  We replaced the shower insert with pretty tile and built in a niche for my shampoo, etc., and a step for shaving my legs.  He put in all brushed nickel appliances, a new vanity, sink, toilet, flooring, canned lights in the ceiling with a fan, and a vanity light.  It looks awesome!

The second bathroom was much more extensive.  I wanted a walk-in Jacuzzi, and not just a normal one; I wanted a two-seater so I could put my feet up.  Eric had to knock out a wall to install it.  There again, we remodeled the whole bathroom with new appliances, vanity, sink, toilet, flooring, canned lights in the ceiling with a fan, vanity light, dimmer switch, and we put in a 32” flat screen TV.  It turned out fabulous!!!  It is now my “spa bathroom.”

One thing about Eric is that he is not messy; he is extremely clean and neat.  He has a great team that works well with him.  They put down tarps and put up plastic walls, so the dust was nothing.  I work at home, and we worked together on when he could shut off the water or electricity.  It was minimal.

As for pricing, I say if you want quality, you have to pay for quality.  Sure, I could have had a new shower insert installed, or called Bath Fitters and had a temporary fix to the situation, but I wanted bathrooms to last my lifetime.

If you are looking for somebody who totally cares about your home, I suggest using Eric.  He is awesome!

My wife and I recently hired Eric Wilson to do repairs on the siding and roof of our house in Windsor.  Eric is very knowledgeable and skilled in all aspects of home construction, remodeling and repair.  We found him to be intelligent, honest, and possessing both a very strong work ethic and a great sense of humor.  We are very pleased with the quality of his work and would definitely hire him again as well as recommend him to our friends.  Thanks, Eric!

Eric and his two workers did a wonderful job. They created two new bathrooms and a shower. The rooms look beautiful. They were very professional and considerate. I can recommend them without hesitation.

Very professional and got my job done very quickly

We hired Eric of Specialty Improvements to help improve our “new” home. He was very professional and knowedgable about the various trades, always explained what he planned to do. He got back to me very quickly and was always on time, organised and conscientious and very thorough with every project.. He installed our new gas range, range hood, and reworked the kitchen sink with a small water heater (the big one is 2 ½ gallons away) We highly recommend him for any construction project.

My wife and I have gotten to know Eric Wilson over the past year of 2019. We feel he has been honest and fair with all our business transactions together. He is very conscientious and works with integrity and patience on our projects. He has very good communication skills and shared everything in the finest detail. Sometimes, on special occasions on the weekends, we were fortunate to see Spencer visiting and enjoying doing things with his dad. In conclusion, we look forward to a long friendship, and we would recommend Eric to other friends in the future.

Eric Wilson insulated my attic and did repairs there as well. He is personable, clear, professional and kind. The work was terrific and he followed his contract just as we discussed. It is hard to describe how hard he works, how caring he is the owner and work. He is a joy to work with. Great clean up and has been so helpful about questions I have had about future projects. If it is a rating of 5 stars….I would give that and more.

Eric was exactly the contractor we needed. He visited the site, provided a timely estimate, and completed the deck project sooner than we anticipated. Eric always kept us informed about his plans and progress. Importantly, Eric recommended an improvement to plan that made sense, which was incorporated within these repairs. Eric also handled all specialized metal fabrications accurately and efficiently – something that I could never have done myself. He was always timely, well organized, and put in a full day. He is very professional and I highly recommend him for your home improvements and projects.

I have used Eric Wilson of Specialty Home Improvements to work on my property over the past 20 years. I am meticulous about wanting jobs done right the first time and up to my exacting standards, so I only hire Eric because I know and trust him. He listens, has fair pricing, and walks me through the projects to ensure my expectations are fulfilled. I ask many questions, and he is patient and answers them thoroughly. I appreciate his responsiveness and professionalism and that he is very neat and organized, providing high-quality work every time.! Equally important is that he is dependable and shows up when he promises.

He has done everything from installing recessed lighting throughout my entire house (no easy task with extremely high, slanted, cathedral ceilings) and garage, installing plumbing fixtures and lighting fixtures, and everything in between—even hanging my artwork. Most recently a refrigerator on the top floor was hooked up improperly, causing water to slowly leak in between the wall and down to my second floor below. It suffered a good deal of water intrusion damage to two door frames, surrounding walls, and ceiling. He did an excellent job repairing/replacing the door frames and fixing the rest of the damage. I am so relieved that it looks new again, with no detectable previous damage. Thanks, Eric, for another excellent job!

I highly recommend Eric Wilson and those who work with him. He subcontracted to Shelter Glass for our new clear glass shower door – they do quality work for the lowest prices. Eric did an excellent job of adding a long safety bar and a new adjustable shower head to our Master bathroom. He specializes in fire and water damage repair, so felt very confident in his skills in updating our shower.

Our vacation house is a small 1932 bungalow-style house in desperate need of a new kitchen. It needed a new kitchen’s conveniences, but the design had to fit within the River vibe: casual but cool. We came up with a plan that maximized the small space using materials that delivered charm and character and worked with the rest of the home.
Eric started by identifying much-needed structural work in the basement beneath the kitchen. That work shored up the structure and added stability to this part of the home. This kitchen has several odd angles, imperfect measurements, and lots of quirks – that’s where Eric’s deep breadth of experience and knowledge is so invaluable.
Because Eric runs a small crew and handles the technical and detailed work himself, there is a great deal of personal pride in his work and unity in the overall project. He was constantly coming up with creative solutions or workarounds to solve problems. He has an optimistic attitude which is always welcome during any construction project.
Eric was always available and in constant communication. He regularly updated me on his progress, accomplishments, and obstacles. Sometimes we talked several times a day. This remodel was a real partnership in ideas, but the craftsmanship and skills are all Eric’s. I highly recommend you talk to Eric about your project.

I have called on Eric often for repairs to my home and office over the past 15 years ( I have an old building).  He has always been dependable and cost-efficient.  The job gets done right and fast every time.  Eric is highly organized and has handled many construction problems over the years.  He quickly understands and knows how to make the repair correctly the first time.  I depend highly on having Eric to help me over and over again.

I hired Eric Wilson to replace and install rotating storage shelves in one of my corner kitchen cabinets. Eric accepted and completed the job in a timely, professional and expert manner, and the result was outstanding. I am very grateful.

I recently hired Eric for a critical water damage repair on both the exterior and interior facade of a commercial building. His estimate was reasonable and competitive. His work was performed on time as well as competently completed. He accommodated the tenants and kept the site clean during his work.
I would recommend Eric Wilson.

Meticulously performed work, in a timely manner, without any mess! I didn’t even know he had been there, except the job was done.  Eric had a well-thought-out construction plan way ahead of the project, including every cost-saving and safety measure and design issues accounted for.  Eric knows this business and is a no-nonsense and honest person who is easy to work with and performs 110% of what he says he will.   Eric had my best interest at heart.

We had just purchased the home and loved it except it had the strangest dining room. With the holidays just 30 days away we needed a major revision removing columns, soffits and flooring which involved tile, drywall, electrical, doors and a window on an exterior wall. Eric and his crew not only got it done on time they did a remarkable job within the budget with no change orders. I would recommend Specialty Improvements Unlimited without hesitation.

I had the good fortune of meeting Eric through my Real Estate Agent when I purchased my home.  My home needed initial and extensive upgrading/repairs.  From the beginning, Eric was professional, knowledgeable, willing to listen, made suggestions, and offered affordable solutions. During the course of the construction, Eric kept me updated and apprised of all work he was managing.  He allowed me to participate as I could and made it feel like “my home.”  All work was done in a timely and efficient manner, and there was never a need for any rework.  I love my home and am grateful to Eric for doing such a fantastic job, thus allowing me to retire and stay in Sonoma County with my family.

We are Oakmont residents with a home built in 1988. The bathrooms were original construction in great need of updating. We contracted with Eric Wilson to remodel the primary bathroom. He and his team were courteous and attentive to our wishes. Eric worked with us to design and install the remodel. We were so pleased with the results that we contracted with him to remodel the hall bathroom as well. We are delighted with the results.

We hired Eric Wilson to perform a couple of minor repairs. In spite of being a very busy contractor, Eric carved out some time to help us out… with a smile. If we ever have a major remodel, Eric will be the man we call.

Water damage repair:
Our guest bathroom suffered significant and extensive damage to the walls, flooring, pocket door and paintwork due to a burst pipe behind the toilet. Eric and his crew of talented craftsmen restored everything more quickly, efficiently and professionally than we could ever have imagined. Eric and every member of his crew were not only highly skilled and fast, they were constantly pleasant and personable individuals to have in our home. We feel most fortunate to have discovered Specialty Improvements Unlimited to put everything back in order for us, and we would recommend them unreservedly for any type of restoration repair or improvement needed
